Jason Bonnington's Preview for Tabcorp Park

Sat, 22 Jul 2017

Well there's no hiding the nightmare that was last night at Shepparton where we played a range of wagers centered around order yet anarchy ensued. The good news is we haven't had two losing weekend meetings in a row too frequently in 2017 so hopefully we can bounce back tonight at Tabcorp Park - and I'm confident we can! I've tinkered and fiddle with a few wages tonight but what we're really trying to do is lob both Quads for a small profit on each, make good money from our two Money Races and hope to lob one of our three value wagers at a genuinely lucrative price.

The Moral

Race 8 - No. 2 Ameretto

Kerryn Manning has this mare ablaze tonight and only an error in transit will stop her leading all the way.

Take On

Race 6 - No. 3 Glenferrie Burn

We took this mare on a couple of weeks back and she missed but only narrowly. She can win again tonight but she won't have mine at $4 that's for sure.

Best Value - $15 Each Way
R1 No.7 - Ideal Majority$11*
The path this bloke has been taking in recent times you would more have expected to see him tackle the FFA than the M1-M2 tonight. Back in this class without nay major megastars his speed - which can be electric - could be lethal with a genuine tempo and a cart into the race.
R3 No.1 - Milady Denver$18*
The likelihood is this mare will land behind the leader and if not there then three pegs at worst and if whoever does lead cops some good heat in the run she is actually good enough to blouse them in the lane.
R11 No.1 - Tiavons Dream$21*
This fellow has been running brave races from sticky gate against good opposition all campaign. Finally tonight he draws a gate where his gate speed should see him in a prominent position getting a sweet, economical run and I think under those circumstances he won't be far away.
Best Roughie(s) - $5 Win $15 Place
R2 No.2 - Danman$31*
The two big keys here are whether Van Mara gets off from gate eight after the start and whether Bells Beach House wants to lead. I lean toward both things happening and if they do then this fellow can easily lob the leader's back and based on his heat run last weekend he can actually win.
Money Race(s)
R8 $60 Flexi First Fours
This would have worked even better had Battle Born not been removed but it still looks a leader/behind leader/three-eggs fiesta now we just hope Cyrus does the right thing and stays on the poles!
